Setting up of a Committee to ensure adequate availability of medical oxygen in the wake of COVID-19 Pandemic_Market_The 25th China Intermational Exhibition on Gases Technology,Equipment and Application

The undersigned is directed to refer to instructions of Secretary DPIIT to formulate a quick response mechanism in the wake of the spread of coronavirus in the country wherein it was, inter-alia, emphasized that adequate supply of medical oxygen should be ensured wherever required in the entire country.

In compliance of the above, it has been decided to constitute a Committee to review the existing production and supply of medical oxygen and cylinders in the country and to ensure:

1. Adequacy of present production capacity of medical oxygen keeping in view the trends of spread of coronavirus and measures to be taken for augmenting the production, if need be;
2. Availability of oxygen gas cylinders and measures to augment their supply;
3. Disruption-free entire supply chain-smooth storage, transportation and supply to end-users;
4. Effective communication mechanism with states through nodal teams constituted for the purpose.
